Jessica Demertzi

Jessica Demertzi began her singing tuition from the tender age of 6. From this day, her highly acclaimed teacher confirmed that she had a gifted voice and a flair for music.

She was encouraged to perform in a variety of eisteddfods around the Illawarra and Sydney in which she continued to win places and become a well known committed and talented performer on the singing circuit.

In her high school years she was involved in various productions including solo performances in the school spectacular “Class Act” and a lead singer in the musical “La Cabaret – a musical review’.

At the age of 17 she won first place in the prestigious “Mo Awards” - National Junior Talent Search, in which was awarded from Co-Patrons Tommy Tycho, Geoff Harvey and Sir Frank Ifeild.

In 2004, Jessica was nominated for the “Encore” performance at the Sydney Opera House as a result of a Band 6 in her HSC Performance, topping the state. This was a considerable honor as she was one of two students from the Illawarra and far south coast nominated for the Encore performance.

From this day on Jessica became a well known performer and was selected to sing at many national basketball, football and Australia day celebrations. She was also asked to appear and sing live on the “SHE Boat” in Sydney Harbour waters and furthermore with English bands in and around Sydney.

In December 2007 Jessica graduated from Wollongong University with a Bachelor of Education Degree. While studying she was asked to teach at a highly acclaimed “talent school.” Here she taught private and group lessons in all aspects of singing techniques and performance skills.

Whilst attending to her studies, Jessica decided to broaden her knowledge of music to her love of Byzantine music, in which she became in demand. Jessica thoroughly enjoys singing Greek music but also has a passion for RnB, Blues, Pop and Dance Tracks.

Up to this day Jessica’s enthusiasm, professionalism and passion has kept her singing with some of the best Greek musicians, with the demand taking her all over Australia.
In January 2010 Jessica also took part in supporting Greek singer Stathis Raftopoulos at the Sydney Greek Festival Darling Harbour in front of thousands of people.

Also this year, she has made guest appearances at Australia’s premiere Greek Nightclub “Kinisi Live” in Melbourne and more recently at the very popular “Hellenic Club” in Canberra.

In September, she was invited by the Greek community in Darwin to sing at their Greek festival as part of their major festivities.

In October she is booked to perform at one of the biggest Greek festivals in Townsville (QLD) and also in Perth (WA). Jessica is currently singing at the latest Sydney premiere night club “Ammos at The Grand” in Sydney.

Jessica’s achievements have helped her take her career to another level of passion and dedication. She is currently in the processes of co-writing and co-producing her own debut album, which is creating a lot of positive interest and anticipation by her fans.
