The OPA Dance Group

The OPA Dance Group of Darwin is proud of its long history and reputation it holds within the Greek community of Australia. Our enjoyable and professional approach to Greek dancing enables us to express ourselves in various dances both traditional and contempary from all parts of Greece.

Classes are conducted by Bill Catis who has been teaching for 21 years in Melbourne and the last 5 years in Darwin. Through those years he has had the privilege to perform with his students at various premier festivals throughout Australia, (Folkfest 1992, Brisbane Greek Paniyiri Festival 2000, Darwin Greek Glenti Festival 2000, 2007 – 2010, Gold Coast Greek Festival 2003, Adelaide Glendi Festival 1987 & 2004, Melbourne Antipodes Festival 1987 – 2006, Kolonaki/Kinisi (Bouzoukia) 2001-2003 and in 1993 was invited to perform with his group at the International Folkloric Festival that was held in Greece.
